What are the grounds for divorce? | Taylor Bracewell Solicitors

I’m Sharon Mckie head of the family
Department and a commonly asked question is what are the grounds for divorce well
there is only one ground for divorce and that’s that you feel the marriage has
broken down irretrievably you then have to rely on one of five reasons and they
are that there has been adultery or that someone is behaved in such a way that
you can’t reasonably be expected to live with that person anymore that you have
been separated for two years and that you both agree to the divorce that
you’ve been separated for five years in which case you don’t need to have
agreement or there’s been desertion if we can help you with the divorce or any
other matter please get in touch with us using the details on-screen
